I was online years and years before I started blogging. I think one of the first things that was reinforced was being a bit diplomatic. It wasn't a difficult conception for me being a professional. All it meant was from the beginning certain topics were not to be discussed, certain boundaries were not to be crossed and subtly putting someone in their place could easily be done with grace and style. Blogging is a bit different in that in introduces a bit of laissez-faire attitude. Bloggers are a bit more inclined to reveal more about themselves and some often have not heard of the concept of diplomacy. 'Tis a shame because if anything diplomacy is one thing needed as a blogger!
