Quite often the topic of multiple blogs comes up on other blogs and in the forums. There seems to be two schools of thought. The first is to have one large blog and focus on it. The second is to have multiple blogs to help compartmentalize and focus your thoughts. I decided right from day one that my blogging would take the second approach and I'm glad I did. I have not seen many 'catch-all' style blogs succeed. After awhile they tend to meander to the same topic or they end up being confusing mish mash. If you think about it the second approach makes a lot of sense. We have different buildings to organize and compartmentalize our daily social lives. We have different rooms in our homes to organize and compartmentalize our home lives and within those rooms we have further organization through cupboards, closets and furniture. Aside of helping to organize your thoughts for blogging I find multiple blogs pretty much guarantees I have something to blog about at least one of my blog topics at any given time. So while I might not feel much like talking about gardening when there isn't much gardening to talk about I can switch gears to talk about another topic like blogging. The dry times for one blog ends up being the times I can get ahead a bit ahead with another blog.
