By now if you frequent Twitter through their website you will have noticed a fair number of changes. As with any website change there are always pros and cons. For the most part if you are using a Twitter client (eg. Tweetdeck, HootSuite, etc) you won't notice much of a difference. The generic avatar has been changed from a bird to an egg but other than that there is not a lot of difference using a client. If, for whatever reason, you have your tweets protected as I currently do you now have to go through followers where there is a tab for requests to deal with those wanting to see your tweets.
So far I've heard more negative than positive comments about the new Twitter. I only use the website to accept requests to follow so I don't mind the changes. I did notice they have widened the central panel considerably so very little of my customized background shows now. In fact it is now wide enough there isn't much point adding a customized background. I doubt those that were using that space to add promotional information will like this change. I also read where Twitter is going to be changing the way third party applications can access your Twitter account so that may result in a bit of tweaking. From what I can see most of the changes are positive though. Time will tell.
