My gosh and it doesn't happen very often that I rant on any of my blogs but sometimes there's the need. Call it working it out of your system or whatever but sometimes a good rant is well worth it. Now there are two ways of dealing with rants. The first way is to do an all out post blindly ranting but don't post it because if you do there may be negative ramifications. The second way is to do a toned down version of the rant, one that will not get you into legal or other hot water.
When it comes to blog rants I really do think you have to choose your battles. At the same time rants add character and personality to your blog because readers realize you are human and sometimes getting ticked off is a perfectly natural human reaction. A rant can be a very effective blog tool as long as you don't overuse it. Just as in real life if you are constantly ranting you are less likely to be heard.
